    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

At the Certificate IV level, students are encouraged to engage in independent research on top of the training days. Our course material is designed to foster inquiry-based learning, where students are expected to demonstrate their ability to conduct basic research. We’ve included resource links as part of the course delivery precisely for this purpose.

Our delivery structure prioritises live demonstrations for two reasons. Firstly, it allows us to guide students to relevant resources, such as the ONRSR website, which is periodically updated. Secondly, live demonstrations offer interactive learning experiences that can enhance understanding and retention of the material. Rather than embedding these resources directly into the learning material, we believe it’s more effective to demonstrate where students can locate them.

We do offer two options to pursue a recognition of prior learning. However, where RPL is sought, please note that RPL recognises prior learning but is not recognition of current competency.

    • RPL route 1: Students with competencies in the TAE training package can map their evidence of competency and currency.
    • RPL route 2: Other students can complete the RPL Application Kit & demonstrate sufficient experience in industry to mitigate the requirement to participate in training. If approved by a trainer, the student may undertake an ‘assessment only’ pathway, where theory assessments are completed in the students’ own time and practical assessments are coordinated between the RTO and student.
