Where RPL is sought, please note that RPL recognises prior learning. It is not recognition of current competency and requires the same level of evidence as per a usual assessment pathway.

As such, RPL may be applied for through the provision of evidence that the student has sufficient and extensive industry experience in the field.

Course Entry Requirements

To be eligible for enrolment at Alium Works into the Certificate IV in Rail Safety Management qualification, you must:

  • 01. Have prior experience working in the rail industry
  • 02. Be 18 years of age or older at the time of enrolment
  • 03. Be technologically literate and have access to Microsoft Office suite or equivalent
  • 04. Have continuous access to a reliable internet connection
  • 05. Have, or be willing to obtain, a USI number
  • 06. Demonstrate English literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to at least Year 10 level

**While there are no formal prerequisites for this module, students with existing rail industry experience or familiarity with network rules and industry standards tend to achieve better outcomes.**
